Topical Hour: Update of the Fairtrade LIRP in Cocoa – Challenges and Opportunities

Dear members of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa,
On Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, GISCO will host a “topical hour” titled Update of the Fairtrade LIRP in Cocoa – Challenges and Opportunities (Agenda).
With Fairtrade’s recent update to the Living Income Reference Price (LIRP) for cocoa in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, this is a timely opportunity to explore the concept, understand its methodology, and discuss the opportunities and challenges it presents. We are delighted to be joined by four esteemed speakers:
Carla Veldhuyzen van Zanten (Fairtrade International); Anna Laven (KIT); Virginie Mfegue (Solidaridad) as well as Lisa Köhl (Aldi South).
The seminar will take place from 13:00 to 14:30 CEST and will be conducted in English only.
