On Wednesday, 24 June 2026, GISCO will host a webinar on “African Regional Standard for Sustainable Cocoa (ARS-1000) – How can the ARS standard make the cocoa sector more sustainable?”
This webinar explores the African Regional Standard for Sustainable Cocoa (ARS-1000) and its potential to advance sustainability in the cocoa sector. Developed by the African Regional Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO), the standard aims to strengthen environmental, social and economic practices in cocoa production while complementing existing voluntary sustainability standards. What opportunities and challenges arise from its implementation, and how could it shape the future of sustainable cocoa production and trade?
Perspectives from the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), the Ivorian Conseil du Café-Cacao (CCC), the producer cooperative SCOOP-RASSO, and Barry Callebaut will provide insights into the implementation of the standard and its implications for the cocoa sector.
The seminar will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CEST and will be conducted in English with French translation.

Le mercredi 24 juin 2026, l’GISCO organisera un webinaire intitulé : Norme régionale africaine ARS 1000 – Comment la norme ARS peut-elle rendre le secteur cacaoyer plus durable ?
Ce webinaire explore la Norme régionale africaine pour le cacao durable (ARS-1000) et son potentiel pour faire progresser la durabilité dans le secteur cacaoyer. Élaborée par l’Organisation régionale africaine de normalisation (ARSO), cette norme vise à renforcer les pratiques environnementales, sociales et économiques dans la production de cacao tout en complétant les normes volontaires de durabilité existantes. Quelles opportunités et quels défis découlent de sa mise en œuvre, et comment pourrait-elle façonner l’avenir de la production et du commerce durables du cacao ?
Les perspectives du Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), du Conseil du Café-Cacao (CCC) de Côte d’Ivoire, de la coopérative de producteurs SCOOP-RASSO et de Barry Callebaut apporteront un éclairage sur la mise en œuvre de la norme et ses implications pour le secteur cacaoyer.
Le webinaire aura lieu de 14h30 à 16h00 (CEST) et se déroulera en anglais avec une traduction en français.
