DESCRIPTION:*** Version française ci-dessous *** \nDear members and supporters of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa\, \nOn Wednesday\, 23 September 2026\, GISCO will host a webinar titled “Agroforestry for Resilient Cocoa: Research Results & Practical Lessons from South America and Côte d’Ivoire” \nAgroforestry production systems can leverage healthy ecosystems and biodiversity to strengthen the resilience of cocoa production. Although agroforestry is recognized for its benefits\, its adoption remains slow and large-scale implementation is still limited in the cocoa sector. \nIn this webinar\, we will explore the latest scientific research and practical experiences from the private sector from South America and Côte d’Ivoire to discuss whether agroforestry can mitigate major threats to the cocoa sector\, such as climate change and unsustainable farming practices and what is needed to scale up successful approaches. \nJoin our panellists and gain insights into agroforestry systems in cocoa sector\, lessons learned and impact achieved. \n\nEvert Thomas\, Alliance Biodiversity International & CIAT \nN.N.\, Olam Food Ingrediens (ofi) & Rikolto\nKeessy Maria-Prisca Kouakou – PhD\, University of Cambridge\, Conservation & Development Lab\n\nThe seminar will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. CEST and will be conducted in English with French translation. \nPlease note that this event is for GISCO members and partners only.
