DESCRIPTION:Please note that the GISCO webinar on “African Regional Standard for Sustainable Cocoa (ARS-1000) – How can the ARS standard make the cocoa sector more sustainable?” has been rescheduled. \nDear members and supporters of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa\, \nOn Tuesday\, 7 July 2026\, GISCO will host a webinar on “African Regional Standard for Sustainable Cocoa (ARS-1000) – How can the ARS standard make the cocoa sector more sustainable?” \nThis webinar explores the African Regional Standard for Sustainable Cocoa (ARS-1000) and its potential to advance sustainability in the cocoa sector. Developed by the African Regional Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO)\, the standard aims to strengthen environmental\, social and economic practices in cocoa production while complementing existing voluntary sustainability standards. What opportunities and challenges arise from its implementation\, and how could it shape the future of sustainable cocoa production and trade? \nPerspectives from the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD)\, the Ivorian Conseil du Café-Cacao (CCC)\, the producer cooperative SCOOP-RASSO\, and Tony’s Chocolonely will provide insights into the implementation of the standard and its implications for the cocoa sector. \nThe seminar will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CEST and will be conducted in English with French translation. \nAgenda \nYou can find further information in the agenda. \nPlease note that this event is for GISCO members and partners only. Élaborée par l’Organisation régionale africaine de normalisation (ARSO)\, cette norme vise à renforcer les pratiques environnementales\, sociales et économiques dans la production de cacao tout en complétant les normes volontaires de durabilité existantes.
