SUMMARY:Topical Hour: Update of the Fairtrade LIRP in Cocoa – Challenges and Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:Dear members of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa\, \nOn Wednesday\, April 9th\, 2025\, GISCO will host a “topical hour” titled Update of the Fairtrade LIRP in Cocoa – Challenges and Opportunities (Agenda). \nWith Fairtrade’s recent update to the Living Income Reference Price (LIRP) for cocoa in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire\, this is a timely opportunity to explore the concept\, understand its methodology\, and discuss the opportunities and challenges it presents. We are delighted to be joined by four esteemed speakers: \nCarla Veldhuyzen van Zanten (Fairtrade International); Anna Laven (KIT); Virginie Mfegue (Solidaridad) as well as Lisa Köhl (Aldi South).  \nThe seminar will take place from 13:00 to 14:30 CEST and will be conducted in English only. \nRegistration on the website is now closed – if you would still like to participate and haven’t signed up yet\, please contact Juliane Lutze directly.
