On the occasion of ISM, which took place in Cologne from 31 January to 2 February, GISCO organised a virtual event on the topic of "Enabling Environment: Incentives and Framework Conditions for Forest Conservation and Climate Protection in the Cocoa Sector" on 1 February to complement its presence at the fair. The aim was to identify the most important need for action for an enabling environment for forest conservation and climate protection in the cocoa sector, to clarify responsibilities and to point out next steps. For this, speakers outlined what is already being done to create an enabling environment in cocoa-growing countries, made recommendations, highlighted challenges and discussed common intersections.
GISCO was very pleased with the contributions of all participants and thanks them for the lively exchange.
