Fairtrade Awards 2018: Ferrero, Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd have been awarded

Our members Ferrero, Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd have been awarded the Fairtrade Award 2018 (category 'Manufacturers' and 'Trade'). Congratulations!

The non-profit organization TransFair honors actors from business and civil society for their commitment.

Development Minister Dr. Gerd Müller was also present at this year's Fairtrade Award ceremony in Berlin in March. He praised the many-sided commitment: "The idea of fair trade has arrived in the middle of society," said Federal Minister Müller. Business partners, whether large manufacturers and retail chains or small start-ups, also contribute to this. They make fair products available to us consumers. We all have it every day to improve the living conditions for the people in the cultivated countries by consciously purchasing fair products. "

Ferrero has been committed to fair cocoa since 2014, and is steadily expanding its partnership with Fairtrade, which has also been working for sugar since 2016. Ferrero is a founding member of the German Initative on Sustainable Cocoa, Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd joined the forum in early 2015. All three companies support projects in the producing countries, such as the PRO-PLANTEURS forum project in Côte d'Ivoire. Aldi Nord & Aldi Süd make a multitude of fair trade goods accessible to everyone - with their own Fair Trade brands.
