The Chairman of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa (GISCO), Wolf Kropp-Büttner (2nd from left), and Stephan Nießner, Chairman of the Association of the German Confectionery Industry (BDSI), met the General Director of the Ivorian Conseil du Café-Cacao (CCC), Yves Brahima Koné, on a delegation visit to Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana in early November. Koné assumed the office only a few months ago, in August 2017. This was the first personal exchange. Through PRO-PLANTEURS, their joint project for the professionalization of 20,000 cocoa farmers, GISCO and the CCC have established a close and trusting cooperation. Koné appreciated the work and emphasized the extensive efforts undertaken by CCC in order to tackle the current crisis in the cocoa market and to support farmers.
