Dear Partners,
PRO-PLANTEURS, the joint project of GISCO, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Conseil du Café-Cacao (CCC), has just started its second implementation phase on June 1st 2020. Within the next five years, PRO-PLANTEURS has foreseen to reach a total of 30.000 cocoa farming families, improving their incomes and professionalizing the organizations they belong to. For this new implementation phase, PRO-PLANTEURS has developed a matching fund, financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, that will allow a closer collaboration with GISCOs members.
In 2022, PRO-PLANTEURS has agreed to collaborate with the global project "Sustainability and Added Value in Agricultural Supply Chains" (PRO-AGRICHAINS) to include additional funds from this project for integrated projects with members of GISCO to be implemented in the La Mé region. This collaboration between PRO-PLANTEURS and PRO-AGRICHAINS includes a joint call of the matching funds, as well as a joint selection of project ideas, preparation of proposals and contracting. The implementation and monitoring of the project progress and completion as well as the communication of the results are jointly coordinated by both projects.
The third call for the submission of project proposals to the joint matching fund PRO-PLANTEURS and PRO-AGRICHAINS starts now!
NEW: In this new round, the call focuses on projects to be implemented in the La Mé region of Côte d'Ivoire. The Matching Fund places particular emphasis on projects that are geared towards achieving a living income.
The submission of concept notes is open until September 15th.
The concept note has to presented using the enclosed document “Concept Note” and should be prepared in English. The guidelines in the annex provide detailed information on the concept, selection criteria and process, as well as on the implementation of the projects co-financed by the Matching Fund PRO-PLANTEURS and PRO-AGRICHAINS.
The process of project selection and preparation will follow 5 steps, which include different deadlines. You can find the schedule for the selection process at the top of this article.
